Wireless Patient Monitoring System

NurseVue is At Box Technology’s ZigBee Wireless Patient Alert System, which consists of light weight wireless transmitters, patient sensors, wireless router, wireless receiver, and software that runs on a PC. The transmitter unit can be connected to various sensors such as humidity sensors, mattress sensors, location sensors, heart, and blood pressure monitor sensors. When the sensors are ‘tripped”, signals will be wirelessly sent to the receiver. The receiver that’s connected to a PC running the software will trigger an alert message to the care giver to care for these patients.

How NurseVue Works:

In a nursing home or hospital environment, NurseVue provides a total monitoring solution that allows the care givers to offer just-in-time service to the patients, while minimizing the unnecessary time and effort on ‘false alarms’ from patients who do not need the care. This total solution allows the care givers and institutes to offer a more effective preventive care where necessary services are immediately offered to minimize harms caused rather than the reactive service. At the same time, this total solution improves the patients’ comfort while minimizing rash, urinary track infection that may trigger additional complex medical conditions. NurseVue software’s event log will allow the institutes’ administrator to use patients’ statistics and to monitor and manage the care givers’ efficiency and effectiveness. The institutes can minimize its operations cost by employing the adequate amount of staff.

Why ZigBee?

ZigBee is a industry standard, and it is a non proprietary technology. ZigBee has been widely deployed in home automation and is Low cost. ZigBee has low power consumption. This allows longer battery life with smaller physical size. ZigBee communicates via mesh network, so the signals are reliable and travel in long range.
